Comments:
I found this machine on the sidewalk outside the then-owner's house in Ely, NV. The $250.00 purchase price included the owner delivering it to me in Boise, ID, - some 400 miles one-way. I had to install new tires, and clean it up a little, but it's otherwise unrestored. Power is direct-drive from a very large diameter, 2HP, 3-phase Howell Red Band motor, which puts quite a starting load on my 5HP rotary phase converter.

This saw was originally sold to the White Pine County High School in Ely, NV, in 1924. A guy I currently work with attented school there, and remembers using this very saw over 30 years ago. He's told me the story of the class idiot, who got down so close to his workpiece on this saw, that he actually managed to cut his nose on the moving blade!
