Comments:
As has happened before, I answered a CL ad for a machine I was interested in and found my friend Kevin at the other end of the phone. Kevin is a natural horse trader/arn trader. He sold me this little DP for cheap, feeding my addiction.
The Workshop series was a mid-century Atlas family of modestly-priced machines for the home shop. This DP is solidly made and still very tight and smooth. Since I did not anticipate using it very much, I chose not to replace bearings, but rather just took it apart, cleaned and lubed everything, and polished and painted it up.
I made a new decal, thanks to Bob Holcomb's artwork entry in this web site. The motor didn't look right so I replaced it with another which I found on the shelf. The keyless chuck was goofy but works fine now with cleaning and replacement of two of the three springs.
This DP appears identical to the machine in the 1952 Atlas Workshop catalog, but that was identified as a 9320. This model, the 9325, showed up first in the 1953 catalog.
