Sears Craftsman 15" bench model drill press (Post-WWII model).
Packard built 1947 Craftsman ½ hp 115.6962 electric motor (note chrome plated raised rib center band).

>>HISTORY<<
Purchased from an estate sale in Clinton Township Michigan, October 2016.
A fellow OWWMer attended the sale and put me in touch with the organizer, because someone purchased this drill press and never picked it up. The organizer had to clear the house after the sale.
The drill press is basically in original condition, except for an outstanding repaint with a tough industrial gray gloss enamel.
Per the estate sale organizer, who knew the owners, the drill was purchased new in 1946 or 1947.
The original owner built a wooden frame stand for the drill, which I have.
The original owner gave it to his son as a Christmas gift in 1952.
The son used it in his shop up to about the time of the estate sale.
There was a hand stamped brass tag on the stand, made by the original owner, with the son's name and date it was gifted. I removed this tag and gave it to the organizer to give to the son's children as a keepsake.

UPDATE-January 2017:
- Removed most of the old grease and added fresh Mobil Polyrex EM
- The old grease was in relatively decent condition and may have been previously refreshed.
- Assembled and installed on Craftsman 16x30 Universal Tool Stand.
- Original belt still in good condition and remains in service.

Comments: Note the "Guaranteed Highest Quality" winged logo tag on these Post-WWII machines. The subsequent early 1950s machines had the "Made By King-Seeley Corporation" winged logo tag.
