I purchased this mill in 2015 from HGR in Cleveland Ohio.
About 1 month was spent restoring the mill. It was torn apart, cleaned, a few parts were repaired, it was stripped and painted, and finally adding a DRO was installed.

This mill was originally ordered in 1941 by the Square D company. I am unsure of its history between then and my discovery.

The mill is very well built for its small size and can still hold 0.001". Much of the original scraping is still visible.

Table size is 8"x30", the spindle is a B&S 9 taper, and the quill has around 3-1/2" of travel
This mill is very similar to the Index Model 40H. I'm not sure what if any differences there are between that and this 39H.
