This was my first Vintage Machine purchase. The CL ad said "table saw" (no picture or make) and gave a model number that came off the Rockwell motor. The seller was a retired cabinet maker from Europe. When he turned the saw on to show me that it worked, it didn't, and so he reduced his asking price by one-half. Although I didn't know much about motors then, I took a chance and bought it. Thanks to this website I was later able to determine that it was a faulty capacitor. He also gave me a 6" General jointer which he said he was going to throw away.

The saw had been stored in a damp warehouse and the table top was very rusty.

I eventually sold the jointer for the same price that I paid for the saw.
