Oliver 260 tilting table, dual arbor, 16" table saw with rolling table, tilting F fence and blade guard. The motors are 5hp, 3ph, 220v. Serial number 40556 manufactured in 1934. I purchased this machine from a local GSA auction along with a 88d, a 260d and several other machines. There are no broken or missing parts and the machine is in excellent condition. However no miters were included. The miter slots are square, not the usual inverse T configuration. I am looking for miters for this saw, please contact me if you have one available.

According to research by Jeff McVey, Ray Muno, and Rich Fink of Oliver/Eagle Machinery there were only 25 tilting table 260s manufactured as an early design of the popular 260d dual, tilting arbor machines. This is the only tilting table 260 to have surfaced to date.

As posted by Jeff McVey: July 2005 update - The No. 260 was originally detailed on drawing No. 260-E-102 of 08/07/29, and was a tilt-table design. Only 25 tilt-table units were produced with S/N 37872 of 03/17/30 being the first, and S/N 44572 of 02/13/37 last. As of this date, no tilt-table 260's have surfaced.

This machine appears to have been well maintained. I intend to have Rich research the history on this one. I will post better pictures, including the table tilt, once I clean it up and reconnect the table tilt mechanism which was probably intentionally disabled.
