Comments:
I got this saw from an estate auction for $230.00. I got to meet the son of the original owner and he said that his father had it for as long as he could remember (the son was in his early 70's). He said "That saw cut A LOT of wood". It was stored in an unheated barn shop in the outskirts of Marion Iowa. The photo of the saw in the trailer is from when I first brought it home. I have discovered a few things about it so far. It has a Brown & Brockmeyer B-Line 1HP Single Phase 110/220 motor in it with a custom made motor mount. The motor's bearings sounded a bit gritty so I took the motor apart and replaced both bearings. I also did very very though cleaning of it. The 4 brushes seem to be in good shape. It was originally wired for 220 Single Phase but when I rewired it I wired it for 110v and added a ground to the motor housing. The motor runs great now. I have also repainted the cabinet with Rustoleum Professional Dark Machine Grey Paint. I also discovered that the PO had repaired the arbor casting. It must have had a crack in so it had been welded. Seems to have been repaired very well. I was able to replace the arbor bearings and get it back together too. Does NOT have the original 3 belt pulleys on the motor or the arbor. They had installed a two belt pulley instead. I will take more photos once I finish the restore.
