"Federal" is cast in the cross bar and in small stamped letters on the clapper box is "Edwin E. Bartlett, maker, Boston USA" in 3 lines. These will almost always be called Federal planers so unless someone knows about the Bartlett connection they probably won't find this post. I think they made 2 sizes with mine being the larger. Federal is probably the most common of the small planers with quite a few listed on the Practical Machinist site. The motor drive was added at some point and seemed to work well.
