I picked this up at an estate sale for $15 about 8 years ago. I restored it and it sat in my workshop because I didn't know what to do with it. Then I saw Ed Porters' Belt Sander and cabinet and was immediately inspired to make this a useable power tool. I made 2 modifications to the tool itself. I added the angle iron belt table and the integrated Belt Vacuum port. Both of which are mounted to the tool. The other Vacuum port is mounted to the cabinet top. The motor is a GE 3/4 HP and I used the Pulley Calculator on blocklayer.com to figure out the size of the pulleys to step down the speed appropriately. As you'll notice I also added a wood milled Belt Guard for safety.
