Comments:
When I found this machine, it had been stored outside in a field for about 15 years. I hauled it home and was able to restore it and add it to my trimmer collection. I turned the six new handles for the capstan wheel, and the rest of the restoration was pretty easy, since the machine was complete. It weighs about 525 pounds, so it's a bit more substantial than a Lion Trimmer. The table is 34" wide, 18" deep, and has a 3" high lip around it.

The gauges are adjustable over the range of 30 to 135 degrees, and each has tapered pins which locate them at 8 of the most commonly used angles. I also have the triangle gauges (shown stored on their shelves on the pedestal), which expand the capabilities of the machine quite a bit.

Trimmers are basically big block planes. This one takes shavings down to about 0.020" pretty easily. I don't really use it much, but it does come in handy every now and then. If anybody else out there has an old trimmer, or knows of one, please contact me. I'm gathering info for a book on the subject.
