The picture below is of an Atlas Clausing Floor Saw (Cabinet Saw). Depending on the table size and extensions it went under the following model numbers.

No. 3110 Saw with Two Solid Table Extensions (27 1/2" X 35" Overall)

No. 3111 Saw with Two Solid Table Extensions and One Small Grill-Type Table Extension (27 1/2" X 43 1/2" Overall)

No. 3112 Saw with Two Solid Table Extensions and One Large Grill-Type Table Extension (27 1/2" X 54 3/4" Overall)

Shipping weights were 530 lbs., 550 lbs. and 575 lbs. respectively.

This saw first appeared sometime in the mid-50's. It does not appear in the 1954 Atlas catalog but does appear in the 1956. My newest paper on this saw is dated 1966.

This saw also sold under the DeWalt name. It's my assumption that Atlas made and badged these for DeWalt along with other machines like the 6" jointer, 6" X 48" sander, Grinder-Hone and contractor's saw. I have uploaded pictures of the De Walt model under the DeWalt section of this Photo Index. There are three picture there.

Prior to this saw the Atlas Floor Saw was a four-footer and had the motor coming out the back, ala contractor's saw. This saw has the motor located inside the cabinet ala, Unisaw/Powermatic 66 and so on.

The motor on this saw is very similar to the Unisaw with the two tabs holding it to the arbor bracket. Available motors were 1, 1 1/2 and 3 horse. The blade was driven by two pulleys.

The blade on this saw tilted to the left.

The internal castings on this saw are also similar to the Unisaw but heavier.

One of the more unusual features of this saw is the blade tilt indicator. Atlas used a dial type indicator in lieu of the radial style used on most every other saw made.

The miter slots were milled for a Tee-bar miter gage. The miter gage shown in the picture below is correct and vintage to the saw.

The motor switch shown in the picture is correct and vintage to the saw. If I'm not mistaken this switch is an Arrow-Hart but do not put stock in this assumption unless you can verify it.

This saw is not owned by me. Please do not contact me about this saw. I only have limited information about this saw and cannot furnish information about it's construction or renovation. I will say this though. From all appearences this saw looks to be a well built saw, heavier than a Unisaw and more in line with a Powermatic 66 or General 350. In other words, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if all the parts and pieces were with it.
