Comments:
One of the long term owners of this saw, since approximately 1906; Captain John Wahlborg, used this saw in his boat repair and building activities in the small town of Home, Washington. John was known for his association with Admiral Richard Byrd and was attributed to joining him on several expeditions in the early part of the last century as he loved to sail on the tail ships. Captain John purchased the property in Home, sight-unseen while living in the New York City area. According to the local historical society, John had quite the shop of woodworking and nautical items to run his shop and it was built over the water from the sea shore. One of John's specialties was building 4' model ships like he sailed with Admiral Byrd. John's home and shop continue to live on with the new owner; a shipwright, working on the reconstruction of one of the early fishing boats located in the nearby town of Gig Harbor.

I acquired the saw from my brother who acquired it from the grandson of Capt. John and he was going to lose it in storage. When my brother ran out of storage he donated it to me.
