From what I have been told this machine belonged to Brooks County High in 1948. My grandfather used it while he was in high school. Later when he was working at the lumber mill, the shop teacher called him up and asked if he wanted it. He used to turn table legs and all sorts of spindles for chairs and other various items with it. It sat in a shed for years after he passed away. I got into wood working and my aunt called me asking if I wanted my grandfathers lathe, so without hesitation I said yes.
