This drill press was gifted to me from an old friend who was a pipe worker. He picked it up from an old mill he was decommissioning. I have had it for several years and am finally getting close to finishing it. Began with some homegrown electrolysis to get the old rust and paint off. In the mean time I sent the motor to get refurbished. This created its own side project. Motor is 3 phase, so I had to get a VFD to allow me to use it on a single phase circuit. Next step was powder coating. That turned out as nicely as I had hoped. Current status: Finish electrical, plug and switch integration. Re-tension Quill return spring and get that set. The hardest and final step will be to get new badging, somehow... oh and the other two sets of speed turret handles/knobs.
