I found this press on Craigs List for $90.00. The RO was the son of the original owner and only used the press for light wood working. I disassembled the press, removed all the rust and cleaned everything. The original Jacobs Chuck had to be sacrificed to remove it from the spindle. I rebuilt the motor, resurfaced the table, painted the press hammered gold. I polished all the exposed metal and fabricated an internal light/ power panel. I installed new bearings, new Jacobs chuck, and replaced the split phase motor with a capacitor start (Dayton) motor. I am currently rebuilding a Craftsman 115.6962 motor and putting the finishing touches on a slow speed pulley assembly.
