This rare motor was manufactured by the FS Betz company in Chicago prior to their move to Hammond, Indiana in 1905. Frank Betz purchased the rights to some patents held by Austin Kimble (Kimble Electric Motors -Chicago) and used the "Kimble" name for this particular model. This motor has its original three point starting box. This box is used to regulate current to the armature at start up and is not intended to be moved back and forth to control speed.
