Comments:
Bought at an auction in Mascoutah, IL for $40. Probably came out of a cabinet shop. The 5hp 3ph motor is a late addition, bolted to the spindle-raising mechanism. Somewhat ingeniously done, but I'd like to take it back to original (if I can find a catalog picture). The shaper does have an original brass plate (painted over) which gives the lubrication instructions. Currently set up only to run about 4000 rpm, but it probably was faster than that originally. This is my third H&B machine.
