This Oliver model 12 has been in constane service since it was born. It is in very great shape. The table are very clean and true, no dings, dents, scrathes, or hammer marks. This jointer is in a patternshop in Tallmadge, Oh and I used it this morning. This 16", 12 has a 3 knife clamshell head and the knives are refreshed regularly. Never a problem with the clamshell and I don't know what the stink is about them, then again this jointer is only used by patternmakers. I don't think the infeed table has ever been tilted for putting draft on a board, we always do that on a 24" Master disc sander. This thing can joint a board dead flat every time, a real pleasure to use, I am going to miss her. The owner is downsizing his equipment and moving south to be closer to family and this jointer has to be sold, anyone interested. I think this one is a 5hp but not sure, when it was repainted a couple decades ago someone got a little on the motor tag. It is direct drive with grease type bearings. The fence is also great as it is long and tall as all 12's and 166's were. This is one clean machine, you can still see the planer finish on the tables.
