These photos were sent to us by new owner Jon Bain. The lathe is an F-series lathe, a line introduced in 1939. By comparing its serial number to other Atlas Press machines in the Photo Index, Jon's lathe is probably from the first year of production. The "H42" model number indicates that it has a countershaft behind the headstock and the bed is 42" long.
