Comments:
I purchased this machine more out of curiosity. In 2021, I was purchasing a bunch of scroll saws for a church-led boy's group. It was meant to help boys maintain boyhood, and lead them in to manhood. Anyhow, one of the things I wanted to do was to introduce them to woodworking. Since I had boys as young as 5, I thought scroll saws was the way to get them started. So, I was parked on CraigsList daily. I then came across the Hawk G4. It was bigger and more expensive than what I was looking for and would be too much to store, but I was intrigued. I looked into it and found that they were made in USA, and looking at reviews, these are supposed to be really good saws. RBI was eventually sold to Bushton, but mine is an RBI, and was, according to an email exchange with Bushton, the 18th G4 ever made since this models inception. Anyhow, I made the 90-minute drive to check it out and ultimately purchased it. This saw was used by an artist, who had passed, but came with a lot of extra blade holders, etc. The PO even sprung for the magnifying light, food pedal and side tray, which I moved under the saw since I didn't like it on the side since I kept bumping into it.

The saw needed a new cam and bearings, as well as some of the other parts for the upper arm. Bushton still manufactures parts for the RBI saws. I called them, told them what I needed, and the parts that they didn't have on-hand, they immediately manufactured for me. I had the parts in under two weeks, and rebuilt the saw, which was extremely easy to do. Anyhow, this saw cuts like a dream, and as much as it pained me, it replaced my 1930's Delta 700 24" scroll saw (which went to a gentleman who really wanted that particular saw, so it went to a good home). I am very happy with this saw and the 26" throat and large table are a dream.
