Comments:
Bruce Norton help me pick this saw up after I was the high bidder in an online auction of surplus equipment from the Vaughn Bassett factory in Elkin, NC. Paint on the saw is rough and the bottom tire is gone, but all of the major castings look good. This is a direct drive saw with a 600 rpm, 3 HP, 3 phase Peerless motor. This is a big motor. Saw came with Wright upper guide and Paddock Lower guide. The 1946 Cresent catalog list the 2 HP version of this saw with a shipping wt. of 1800 lbs. Moving this saw felt like every bit of 1800 lbs.

The saw is missing the mechanical brake but came with a Short Stop electric brake by AMBI Tech industries Inc.

This saw is two units older than the 32" bandsaw posted by Dick Streff and the tag is in similiar condition.

I will post updates when I figure out if the motor and electric brake work.

The first picture is of the saw strapped to Bruce's low trailer with tilt bed. This saw would have been a bear to haul home with a regular trailer. As it was in slide in through the 7'6" garage door with less that two inches to spare.
