Purchased locally through eBay auction. Seller wasn't responsive to inquiries so bidding was light. Took a chance and bid what I thought I could get for parts, worst case. Though covered in thick layer of shop grime, it turns out to be a decent machine, except for the butchered table. As purchased, fitted with shop-made speed-reducer middle pulley. This promptly went away as the pulley mount was secured with bolt through both head and column, fixing the head in place as well. Tension was adjusted with 5" long bolt out through side of cover.

Cleaned up well with scuffs, scrapes and obligatory splatters of paint. Fitted with 1/2 hp Wards PowrKraft 110v motor. Runs smoothly, no vibration to speak of. Measured runout at whisper shy of .002". Features 4-step pulleys, 1/2" Jacobs chuck, large round base, original belt cover with flip-up side access, Cutler-Hammer power switch on head, and a well-butchered table (heavy sigh). Spindle guard on top is a heavy casting that contains a spindle bushing as well. Pulley guard in front is part of body casting, not added on.

Manufactured by Walker-Turner Div, Kearney & Trecker Corp, which should put it pre-Rockwell acquisition in I believe 1956. Body has casting number DDP 500. Don't know anything else about this drill press. Have not been able to yet locate any literature or history of this model. Have seen two others that have just appeared on eBay. One shows the proper factory third pulley setup with pulley suspended from sliding bar passing through upright casting in front of motor.

Appreciate any history, dirty paper or other input on this model.
