Purchased on auction from the estate sale of a late local machinist’s home shop. Was In rough shape. It had multiple layers of paint that were all peeling. At some point in its life it had been tipped over onto its face damaging the main casting around the ram bore and breaking a handle off of the the hand wheel. It had been torch bronze brazed back together in a “if some is good, more is better” manner. After I purchased it: it got completely disassembled, loose paint scraped off of the body casting. All parts washed and degreased. The piled on brazing was leveled and smoothed out with a die grinder burr and flat file to blend into the original casting. Everything sand blasted except for the ram, pinion shaft, and long arm handle. Everything was professionally primed and painted with 2 part industrial primer and 2 part industrial black paint by a local bodyshop. Decorative paint added by yours truly.
