Client supplied this motor for his Buffalo 18 drill press restoration. We nicknamed it the "Moon Egg". Assembly is completely unique to my experience. The two halves are coupled from the interior with an inverted-V expansion band that interfaces with grooves in the casting. The band is expanded with a single setscrew (see photo). Another interesting thing is that the stator is held stationary by a single dowel pin that slips into a bore shared by the stator and one end bell. The start capacitors (two) are mounted behind the centrifugal switch inside the end bell. Client requested full polish finish
