I bought this band saw from a local craftsman a while back and just finished cleaning and tuning it up. While sanding the cabinet for painting the original dealer tag from Buckner Weatherby Co. in Seattle emerged from under the grey paint. Also an asset tag for the purchaser was revealed. The University of Oregon Medical School was the original owner which is in Portland and now known as OHSU. I will try to replicate these two tags but they were not salvageable.
It had the weighted feed assist when purchased but I chose not to mount it at this time. The Reeves drive now works very well as does the chip clearing compressor and Vimco retirement lamp. Here are a couple of pics of the saw as found and after cleanup, mechanical repair, and casters and top lift point were added. outer cabinet was painted but inside the doors left original. The model 87 is often thought of as a metal cutting saw as the low speeds allow it. It is also quite capable cutting wood as well with a wide range of speeds available. Ed.
