Bought this press at the estate sale of a recently deceased professional machinist. No functional damage to the press. Teeth & casting intact. Rusty & grimy, but definitely not abused. Missing the pivot base plate. I contacted Dake Corporation (the purchaser of Atlas Press Company in 1945) to order a replacement plate. Cost me more than what I paid for the press! Wire-brushed, primed, & painted—dark gray to match what I believe was its original color. Salvaged the name plate and serial number tag. Still researching its manufacture date. Definitely pre-1945. Will post pictures when the project is done.
