At some point the planer head was changed to a 4 knife ball bearing head- probably it was changed to electric at this time. I replaced the bearings which were very rusted. Also found that most of the 168 springs in the sectional roller had broken or had twisted along with one of its flutes had a broken piece. Bought new springs and welded the broken piece back in. Runs really well now. It's a beast of a machine-4000lbs+ .
