found this beautiful motor sitting on a home made lathe in a basement in Waukegan Illinois at an estate sale. Sold for: scrap value, as the chord was toasted... Everything in basement was well used and very well respected!!!! so I took it home...cleaned it up, oiled it... rewired using same plug and switch. Reynolds Electric Company badged at top, and has a (RECO) tiny badge in center of front, with its serial number. A very robust motor @ 60 cycle; 1750 RPM on a single phase platform. Has brass oil ports built into the frame supplying oil at a 45 degree to bearings. There are also screw plugs that could be used as oil ports if motor was installed up side down....now are plugged drains at bottom. (((A great design))). These were made in Chicago, the same company later produced early stop and go lights using there motors to operate them. A fairly scarce motor. The condition is exceptional. Measures 7" across.
