Comments:

This is the older heavier version of the 9" South Bend with wider bed, heavier headstock, double walled apron with tapered gibs on the slides. It was acquired from the grandson of the original purchaser who served in WWII and never came back. It was stored in a barn and in storage ever since and was covered in surface rust. The lathe was in multiple pieces but relatively easy to restore since all the parts were there and there was next to no wear on the ways.
