his machine was discarded from a dealership and buried. It was unearthed and taken under care in 1962. First It was taken to a car wash and cleaned several times, and then taken home, where it was disassembled to the last screw. Then the arduous task of dimensional evaluation was performed, we sourced and procured new lead screws and made new nuts. The elevation screw remained original. The head received modern gears and new bearings. It was scrapped in to vertical and XY tolerance of ,0005. The table drive was preserved, a matching three-step pulley was made and a motor mount and drive system was fabricated. Every flat surface was flecked in a fine pattern. The machine remains in my possession and has been used extensively over the years. This was a father/ son project that took 2 years.
