Part 1. Needed a table saw to leave on-site when building my house in 1990. Purchased this highly modified 1946 Delta 10" #1160 Tilt Table Saw from a farmer in southeast Michigan. Came with modified 1168 steel stand, and original #864 miter gauge. It has a 1 HP 110/220 Wagner Electric Co. motor, which I suspect came with saw, but do not know for sure. Table was extended on both sides with plywood clad with a hard, wood grained Formica. Top of steel stand was lowered 6" so that saw and motor would be on top of stand with table of saw at a comfortable height. Left two feet of steel stand were cut off and large "Toro" lawnmower, solid rubber wheels added for table saw mobility. My intensions were to use this tilt table saw on site while building my house and then later purchase a better, non tilting type table saw for later woodworking needs. I got used to this saw and have never seen a need to upgrade. I use the saw about twice a month for various projects, and have found it to be adequate for my needs. I like using old tools like this. The guy who modified this saw was really bright and talented. Vintage Machinery really helped me learn about the specifics of this machine and various parts and part numbers. The online manuals and parts lists are great.
