Part 2. Highly modified 1946 Delta Tilt-Table saw. Purchased in 1990 for about $150 from a master woodworker / farmer from southeast Michigan. Original 864 Miter Gauge came with the saw, no attachments for miter gauge came with it. Came with original 1163 table insert for a 10" saw blade. Insert shows quite a bit of wear. 1168 steel stand is same stand that came with 1946 37-595 Saw-Jointer Combination Unit. Do not know if this was originally purchased as a combination unit or if the saw and stand were purchased as separate items. The stand was cut down by 6 inches in height and the left two feet of the stand were cut off and replaced with two large "Toro" mower wheels with solid rubber tires. The saw is easily moved with this modification. The motor was raised to the top of the stand (on plywood) and a shorter belt was then used with the original 5" pulley wheel on the 1 HP motor going to the 3" pulley wheel on the saw arbor. The table was extend on both sides of the cast iron table. The table is now 49" by 27". The front and rear rails for the rip fence were extended from 36" to 49". The modifications all make sense and have resulted in a very functional table saw, even if it is a Tilt-Top.
