This Craftsman model no. 315.11350 (cat. no. 9-1135) Drill was manufactured and sold by Sears in 1970 ($34.99) and 1971 ($36.99). In 1969 Sears sold an almost identical drill with the catalog no. 9-1125 ($34.99) with a trigger that would only lock at full speed. This 315.11350 drill could lock at 3 different constant speeds. In 1972 the drill was given a plastic body so it would be double insulated, and had the cat. no. 9-1145-($39.50).
My brother (born 1955) and I (born 1957) had a father who wanted to give us tools every Christmas. During the 1960's and early 1970's we would get the exact same tools as gifts. Usually the tools were purchased from Sears. I believe it was 1970, (could have been 1971) we both got our first power tool, which was this electric drill. I was in middle school and my brother in early high school. So this is the model drill that we primarily learned on. My drill died in the 1990's but my older brother still has his, which is pictured below. We both have other, newer drills also. Thanks to those who submitted the Sears power tool catalogs for these years; it made my research easy. See 1970 Sears Catalog at http://www.vintagemachinery.org/pubs/222/17198.pdf
