Purchased in early 1995. Had used a lot of 1970's and 1980's Craftsman circular saws. They were fine, but this was a cut above. Very durable, and rip guide and adjustment knobs all function well. I prefer this style circular saw over the heavy duty worm-drive saws because this style is lighter. Being right handed I don't mind having the saw blade to my outside right. I don't mind having a power cord on a saw.
