This came out of a local company that was closing it's doors. They had never operated it and didn't know what it had been used for. It was apparently run off a line shaft and used four different cams to feed the dowel, grip it, raise the cutter into the dowel and use a small saw blade to cut the part off. It looks as if they had started with a medal lathe base and made castings to fit.the castings are well made and nicely machined. Restoration was fun and it's impressive to watch, unfortunately, I have absolutely no use for it
