Bought an old Delta DP 220 in Santa Rosa. The DP turned out to be almost pristine! After disassembling and loading the dp, got acqainted with the seller, an aviation mechanic. Nice Man. Seller stated the DP220 belonged to his Father, a fighter pilot squadron leader on the the USS Yorktown in the S. Pacific. Disclosed my passion for owwms and he took out me to another shop and showed me this. Seemed to be all or mostly there. I drug it home also. Needs some tlc. Probably my first vintage machine. (or basket case). The knives had numbers J-6-16 and BB-6065 or c/b 33-6065 on each knife.

Updated 9/10/2007:
Just returned from the machine shop. Got the cutterhead rebearinged. Brian (machinist) told me he had to heat the c/h coupling flange to get it off the c/h shaft. These bearings are not sealed and they are adjusted or held in place by threaded bearing caps or retainers that are threaded into the outside of the mounting (pillow) blocks.

I could not get the bearings off the armature. Sent the motor to my buddy Steve Lohr, Lohr Electric Motor Repair. Wgtn., MN - stated the bearing were fine.

Finally finished the jointer - 10 / 2012
