As far as I understand, powermatic was never sold in Canada, and the previous owner had no idea how this machine ended up in the country. He bought the saw from a retiring cabinetmaker in a purchase of many machines and left it in storage for approximately 10 years.

The machine has a 575volt motor that was definitely not stock equipment, and has an approval sticker from Ontario Hydro to show it's been inspected and ok to run on our grid.

Bought the machine in Ottawa and had it shipped to Toronto. Fired it up with what I thought was a dull blade on my Chiwanese General International and it cut cleaner than a new blade on the GI. This machine also only had a dado throat plate - an amazing comparison of cut quality compared to the GI with zero clearance plate. GI was sold within 24 hours.

My buddy and I could not lift this machine off the ground - unbelievable. We could not even lift one side of it off the ground - both of us being on the same side.

In the background you can see the general international getting ready to be shipped out. Good riddens.
