I purchased this machine at auction in Albuquerque, NM. I believe that it came from Albuquerque Public Schools. The machine was in good condition when purchased. I did have to replace the small cast iron arms that actuate the bed roller adjustment mechanism because they were broken. I expect that cast iron simply was not strong enough for this component. I replaced them with mild steel arms and have had no problem with the adjustment mechanism. Planer performs well, it is powerful enough to take 3/8" off of a 10" wide oak board, used more gently it produces a very good surface. This machine has a 3 knife cutter head, 20-50 FPM continuously variable feeds, and a direct drive 5hp, 220V, single phase motor.

I have found that adequate dust collection is very important with this machine. My dust collector pulls 1100 CFM, this is adequate. Without dust collection, chips fall down onto the surface of the board and travel with it under the outfeed roller. The outfeed roller pushes the chips into the surface of the board leaving dents. With dust collection on chips clear very nicely and none find there way under the outfeed roller.
