Comments:
I acquired this jointer from a fourth generation owned textile mill in New Hampshire. They bought the jointer new when they were located down in Massachusetts. Sometime since they owned it they converted it from babbit bearing to ballbearing. They also changed it from flat belt drive to direct drive. Who ever did this for them did a very professional job of it. The machine has a round gibbed safety head with two knives. It also has a tilting fence, rabbiting shelf and a Surtey blade guard. You don't see too many of these center pedestal design jointers from American as the three toed, wedge bed became their mainstay jointer. It still is a very nice jointer and was well built. This machine weighs in at about 1100 lbs. I didn't have the blade guard on when i took these pictures. This machine needs no work and is ready to use as the old owners took very good care of all of their machines.
