Comments:
I purchased this lathe off of EBay from a guy in Michigan for $ 500.00. He said it came from a school in Michigan. He had purchased it in an auction and restored it as you see it in photos. He had installed a static phase converter on the motor and after extended use I burned up the motor. After I found out that this motor could not be replaced I went to work and designed my own single phase alternative. I made an adaptor plate and shaft, hung a one horse motor on the back and I am back in the turning business. The photos show the adaptor plate and shaft and the single phase motor as installed. I put on a belt guard for added safety. With this set up I still maintain the variable speed control and the original on off control. This lathe runs very smoothly and is a joy to operate.
