I put an post in BOYD looking for a Band Saw. I live in Kansas City and got a response from Bill Richardson (outside of Buffalo, NY) that this saw was available. He negotiated a $150 selling price and I jumped on it. Months later, he took it to my dad (outside of NYC) and my dad freight shipped it to me here in Kansas City.

After sitting for a few months, the teardown began. I had it sandblasted, and then repainted it myself using an original color match color from the OWWM.com WIKI. I used an HVLP sprayer and my compressor in my garage. Turned out fantastic. All new bearings from Accurate bearing were installed. Each and every stinking piece was cleaned, de-rusted, polished and covered in either Boeshield or Paste wax (or both).

Tires are new from Carter and were crowned manually on an 8 1/2" disc sander I restored. Restoration was completed in early Summer of 2008.

I created a new base for it using 3/4" and 1/2" MDF sheets. I used the original cast iron base (from pictures on OWWM.com) as inspiration, but decided on an enclosed box to prevent the motor from getting too dusty. The motor is a new Dayton 3/4 HP, 1725 RPM, 110V from Grainger. The back panel of the box is just press fit so it can be removed to service the motor.
