Purchased thru e*ay in Eastern Michigan. Apparently a former production unit, put on another base, with a ?shaper bed bolted to the base as well. The base and work bed were not part of the original machine. The pedestal on the other hand had paint which was the same as the head unit. The motor, 1/2 HP, has a Spiegel label on it.

Admin Note: This photo entry was edited to update a few machine specifications. I can't see the DP tag in this photo, so am unable to narrow down the date estimate. Based on what I can see it could be anytime between 1940 and 1947. The setup is very interesting. Mr. Christiansen has noted that the paint on the pedestal matched the paint on the head, and so is guessing that it is original to this unit. I can't confirm either way. These DPs were used frequently in manufacturing/production settings, and various ways of mounting the DP unit were made to satisfy different customer needs. I'm not aware of any WT publication showing a mount of that type, but that doesn't mean they couldn't have done so. Admin:DG
