I am currently refurbishing a Crescent Machine Co 26" Bandsaw.
When I was wire brushing the raised letter patent date I discovered that the Crescent logo had been ground off. I plan to protect this area prior to sand blasting. Once all parts have been cleaned the machine will be clear coated to display the cast iron and preserve the history of the machine. The babbetts will also be re-poured to put the machine back into operation.
This machine was rebadged by The Silver MFG Co. out of Salem, OH.
I acquired this from a friend, an old sawyer, from the Dixon, MO area. He was old enough to be my "Pop-Pop" and had many similar characteristics. |
