I acquired this Crescent 26" Band Saw from my Grandfather's Estate. I believe he purchased the Vintage machine from his longtime employer, the Geo. D. Roper Company in Rockford, IL.
The machine has been stored in-doors, and has not been turned on since ~ 1983. It ran perfectly at that time. It is wired for 220 - 1 Phase, and has a 115/230 - 1 Phase GE AC Motor. I suspect the machine was Upgraded at some point with quality wheel guarding that closely resembles the design observed in some of the Crescent Brochures on-line.
I plan to clean up the machine, evaluate and make any needed repairs. I will then put the machine to good use... |
