The short-lived Hercules Machine & Tool Co., Inc. was created in 1919 to acquire the metalworking machinery lines of Himoff Machine Co. The last traces of the company we can find are about four years later.

    NEW YORK.—The Hercules Machine & Tool Co. has been incorporated with a capital of $100,000, by M. G. Himoff, H. R. Rosenkranz and D. Singer, 410 Broome street.
  • The Smithsonian has a 1921 gear-hobbing catalog from this firm.
  • September 1921 Machinery lists Hercules Machine & Tool Co., Inc., Broome & Lafayette Sts., New York, as makers of gear cutting machines, including bevel gears, helical and spur gears, plus worms and worm wheels.
  • 1921-09-21 The Iron Age has a text ad from The Hercules Machine & Tool Co., 410 Broome St., New York, as a manufacturer of machine tools offering to do contract machining. Elsewhere in the issue they are listed as providers of gear cutting services general machine work, and makers of gear cutting machinery.
  • October 1921 A.S.M.E. Mechanical Catalog and Directory has a full-page ad showing two gear hobbing machines. The directory lists Hercules M&T as makers of gear hobbers, engine lathes, heavy-duty lathes, projectile lathes, screw-cutting lathes, turret lathes, screw machines, and various kinds of gears.
  • 1922 Engineering Directory lists Hercules Machine & Tool Co., Inc., 410 Broome St., New York, as the makers of "Hercules" engine lathes and turret lathes.
  • 1924 Mechanical Engineers Catalog and Product Directory lists Hercules Machine & Tool Co., (Inc.), Broome and Lafayette Sts., New York, as makers of gear hobbing machines and gears.
