Founded as the Geometric Drill Co. in 1893. In 1905 the firm changed its name from the Geometric Drill Co. to the Geometeric Tool Co..

In 1919, this firm made a pedestal-base grinding machine specialized for grinding cutters for thread chasers. Their best-known products were die heads. Prior to 1953, the company became Geometric Tool Co. Division of Greenfield Tap & Die Corp. Geometric products later became part of Greenfield Industries, which is independent of Greenfield Tap & Die's current corporate parent. In 2013, ATI Stellram acquired Greenfield Industries' Geometric brand and made it part of Landis Threading Systems. ATI Stellram then sold Landis, which went private as Landis Solutions, LLC. It originally was Landis Machine Co.
