This firm made drill presses, grinders, and other machine tools. The company was in business in 1911 as W. H. Leland & Co.. By 1917 it was Leland-Gifford Co., "a firm consisting of William H. Leland, Albert J. Gifford, and Subbo Nikoloff."

Leland-Gifford Products, LLC is still in business and (as of 2013) providing support for Leland-Gifford's products, plus some product lines they acquired over the years, including Gallmeyer & Livingston surface grinders and Barker Engineering Co. / Barker Milling Machine Co. horizontal and dual-head mills.

  • A Leland-Gifford drill press has been reported, along with several patent numbers listed on it. 1911 and 1914 patents were granted to Albert J. Gifford, and assigned to W. H. Leland & Co. A 1916 patent was granted to Gifford and not assigned. A 1917 patent was granted to Subbo Nikoloff and assigned to Leland-Gifford Co., "a firm consisting of William H. Leland, Albert J.
