Apparently the successor to Portable Electric Tools, Inc. Manufactured the Shopcraft line of tools that was sold by J. C. Penney Co., Inc.

  • The December 1980 issue of Popular Mechanics has an ad for a 10" three-wheel bandsaw, plus 5" bench grinder, 1/2" drill press (which looks more like a handheld drill mounted on a stand) and a 7" lathe. "Edison Bench Tools / Benchmark Tool Company Columbia, MO 65201".
  • The March 1981 issue of Popular Mechanics has a brief writeup on a 6" bench grinder from this maker: "BenchMark Tool Co. 2601 Industrial Dr., Jefferson City, Mo. 65101".
