One type of American chucking-lathe, of which there are several in use, is illustrated in Fig. 261. It is by the Pratt & Whitney Co., and is rendered more complete by the addition of a turret. The back geared head is fitted with friction-clutches. The turret slide has an automatic stop-motion and quick feed for reaming, which may be changed instantly. |
