Found this Dunlap drill press at the dump. Was throwing away a piece of metal and there it was, laying on the top of the pile. I needed a bench top drill press and figured if it didn't work I would bring it back or replace the motor.
Got it home and it works great! I could tell it was old just by looking at it but I really don't know when it was made. It looks like it has the original paint although I have seen some Blue ones and not sure if it may have been Blue.
I got interested and was curious if it always had that open belt. Looks like that's the way it was made. No sign of guard mounting holes anywhere.
The motor is a GE with oil cups for the bearings. Looks like the original.
I have included a few pictures. If anyone can tell me when this thing was made I would like to hear from you.
